Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly transforming workplace learning and development by enabling organizations to move beyond standardized training approaches toward personalized, adaptive, and continuous employee development. This research examines the role of AI-based training tools in enhancing employee learning, engagement, skill development, performance, motivation, and continuous professional development. AI-powered learning platforms, intelligent tutors, chatbots, learning analytics, automated assessments, competency-mapping systems, recommendation systems, and immersive technologies can analyse employee learning behaviour, performance, competency levels, and individual development needs to provide customized learning pathways, relevant content, immediate feedback, and targeted skill-building activities. The study highlights that AI-based training can improve employee participation by making learning more accessible, flexible, interactive, and relevant to individual career objectives. It can also support knowledge retention, competency enhancement, practical skill development, upskilling, reskilling, and application of acquired knowledge to workplace responsibilities. Furthermore, AI can contribute to organizational learning culture by encouraging continuous learning, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and workforce adaptability. However, the effectiveness of AI-based training depends on employee acceptance, digital competence, organizational support, transparency, privacy, ethical implementation, and the quality of AI-generated recommendations. The study therefore emphasizes a human-centred approach in which AI complements trainers, managers, mentors, and peer learning rather than replacing them. Overall, AI-based training tools provide significant opportunities for creating flexible, responsive, engaging, and future-ready employee development systems.
